Why do so many people believe in God?

Did you know that 4 out of 5 people are believers? In front of such a remarkable number, it would be perfectly reasonable to wonder, “why so many people?” Throughout human existence, we’ve asked certain questions that empirical, or observable science, despite all its merits, cannot answer. For example, can we in all seriousness explain the love of a mother for her child as a chemical reaction that simply served to make our ancestors reproduce?

Another question would be: why put effort into succeeding in a life that will only end in death?

For me, as for several billion people around the world, the answers to all of these questions that empiricism fails to answer are found in the most exceptional human being that ever walked the Earth: Jesus of Nazareth.

It is surprising to me that the greatest man is so rarely counted among the great men of history.

Perhaps your reaction is to doubt my enthusiasm for this man. I then invite you to form your own opinion. It is worth noting that texts such as the Gospels that recount his story and his message have proven to be historically valid.
